LET WARREN BUFFETT IMPROVE YOUR EFFECTIVENESS

Warren Buffett lists six criteria to consider before buying
any company (1).

They can be a blast of light to help you see what should be
at the top of your action list, even when you’re nowhere near buying a company.

They will ramp up your effectiveness, whatever your
responsibilities.

As a leader, you’ll help your team focus quicker and better,
too.

(The criteria won’t make you take the action step, but they’ll pare away the noise.)

As you look at your plan for the week (month, quarter,
year), you’ll see too many “high payoff” items. What to do?

Turn these questions into your scalpel, to cut your list
down to a size that you (and your team) can act on.

1)       Why am I doing this?

2)       What is my goal?

3)       What is the worst that can happen?

4)       What is the best that can happen?

5)       What has already happened?

6)       Have I checked with a friend?

Of course, not all 6 questions need to be asked for each item on your list; but some

stubborn priorities may require the full 6 to blast them loose.

The short-hitters and 2nd tier actions will show
themselves, dropping down your list, and you’ll be freer to move on the best
opportunities in front of you. Ah…….freedom!
